Human Rights Watch defends the rights of people worldwide. We scrupulously investigate abuses, expose the facts widely, and urge those with power to respect the rights and secure justice. We are an independent, international organization that works part of a movement to uphold human dignity and advance the cause of human rights for all.
The general goal of the Foundation is to defend human rights as follows: a) Protecting human rights around the world in times of war and peace by documenting violations, publishing the findings, and using this information to stop the violations and prevent violations in the future. b) Undertaking any other educational, humanitarian, literary, or scientific activities in this context. The Foundation aims to support worldwide operations of Human Rights Watch through fundraising in the Netherlands.
